Sculptra® Aesthetic injectable is used to reverse the signs of facial fat loss that occur with aging. By restoring collagen, which decreases as the body ages, it fills out shallow-to-deep wrinkles and folds that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds). It is not appropriate for use in the eye and lip areas. Sculptra Aesthetic‘s main component is an alpha hydroxy acid called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is a safe and long-lasting synthetic (artificially created), biocompatible (can be used harmlessly in the body), biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body) substance. PLLA has been used for more than 20 years in many surgical products, including dissolvable sutures and soft-tissue implants. At AURI Aesthetics our team has helped many patients achieve more youthful-looking skin with Sculptra and our selection of the latest dermal fillers offered at our Gilbert, AZ office.
What is Sculptra® Aesthetic?
Sculptra® Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable used to correct shallow-to-deep facial wrinkles and folds, particularly nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and mouth). It is composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a safe and biodegradable synthetic material that has been widely used in medical products, such as dissolvable sutures, for over 20 years.
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which provide immediate volume, Sculptra® works gradually by promoting collagen production. This creates a more natural, youthful look that develops over several months. The gradual improvement of Sculptra® provides subtle lift and rejuvenation, ensuring that your results appear natural rather than artificial.
